Thank you for celebrating Lunar New Year with us and being part of two wonderful evenings of culture and community.

Lunar New Year 2026 came alive in Parramatta and Epping with free, family friendly celebrations filled with culture, performances, food and community spirit.

Parramatta Square: February 2026

Parramatta Square served up a night of celebration, food, entertainment and live music.

  • High‑pole lion dancers, firecrackers, God of Wealth appearances, roving performers and Mahjong workshops
  • Vibrant live entertainment including DJs, live music performances and karaoke 
  • S.M.A.S.H. Cosplay Catwalk Competition 
  • Art installation by artist Chris Yee, featuring a 12‑metre archway 
  • Chinese Wishing Tree experience 
  • Street food stalls and local dining offerings showcasing Lunar New Year flavours

Family and friends gathered in Epping to experience the flavours, traditions and fun of Lunar New Year.

  • Family‑friendly Lunar New Year celebration
  • High‑pole lion dancers, firecrackers and pyrotechnic fireworks welcoming good fortune and prosperity

  • Live cooking demonstrations and cultural food experiences as part of the Lunar New Year Creative Kitchen 
  • Hands‑on workshops and cultural activities for all ages, including Tai Chi and Calligraphy
